DESCRIPTION:The next Cantata Singers concert is on April 6. Entitled “Ave Maria”, it consists of 20 settings of this beautiful prayer from over the centuries. Each one is a musical gem! The compositions span hundreds of years and include chant, Palestrina, Haydn, Rachmaninoff, Reinberger, Lauridsen, Rachmaninov. The well-known Schubert and Bach-Gounod versions will be also be included. The concert takes place at St. Joseph’s Church, 174 Wilbrod Street at 3pm.
