A reception and fellowship will follow.\nAccessibility accommodations are available upon request. Parking is available nearby; public transit is recommended.\nReverend Daryold Winkler, former Pastor of St. Basil’s Parish in Ottawa will preside over the Mass, offering prayers and reflections that underscore the Archdiocese’s commitment to truth, reconciliation, and walking with Indigenous Peoples. As an Indigenous priest his leadership in this observance symbolizes the Church’s dedication to fostering healing and building stronger relationships rooted in mutual respect and understanding.\n \nAbout National Day for Truth and Reconciliation\nSeptember 30th, recognized as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, holds deep significance in Canada’s journey toward healing and reconciliation. It serves as a powerful reminder of the experiences of residential school survivors, their families, and the children who never returned home, while inviting all Canadians to reflect on the intergenerational impacts of these schools.
