St. Mary’s Parish (Ottawa, ON) is looking to hire a casual maintenance worker to assist the custodian. Starting date is flexible, and daytime/occasional weekend availability is required.
Job Description
Hours will be a combination of weekly fixed hours and as-needed hours, for a total of 5-8 hours per week. All tasks will be delegated, trained, and supervised by the custodian.
Weekly Tasks: Wednesdays 11am-5pm (Rectory cleaning)
Monthly Tasks: Deep cleaning of Rectory kitchen
As-Needed Tasks: Weekend washroom/kitchen check-ups, assistance in yearly tasks such as floor waxing, deep cleaning of sanctuary, small renovation jobs, and the covering of basic church maintenance tasks whenever the custodian is away.
The successful candidate will:
- Have prior experience in property maintenance and cleaning
- Be willing to learn on the job, and respond well to constructive feedback
- Be available on Wednesdays, and other weekdays and weekends as needed
Pay Rate: $22/hours
