Dr. Christine Schintgen, President of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College and Associate Professor in Literature, will be giving a talk at St. Patrick’s Basilica on Saturday, June 8th, at 7:30 pm. The talk is entitled, “Why Catholics Need Literature”.

The talk will take place in the lower level of the basilica.

Doors open at 6:30 pm. There will be opportunities to learn about Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College and the programs it offers, including the new four-year Bachelors of Arts degree program which launches this fall.

Admission is free. All are welcome!


— About the Speaker —

Dr. Christine Schintgen is the president of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College where she also teaches literature. Her current interests include Dickens, Dante, and the relationship between faith and literature. She also writes poetry. Christine and her husband Michael live in Barry’s Bay with their three children.

Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College provides a vibrant, liberal arts post-secondary education that integrates faith and reason and is rooted in the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Located in Barry’s Bay, Ontario, within the Diocese of Pembroke, the college offers a three-year Bachelor of Catholic Studies program, and a four-year Bachelor of Arts with majors in Classical and Early Christian Studies; History; and Literature.
