Employment opportunity – Choir Director/Organist (Part-Time)

St. George’s Parish is seeking a part-time Choir Director/Organist (10 hours/week) to lead sacred music for our Saturday Vigil and Sunday Chanted Mass while helping grow a vibrant parish music ministry rooted in the teaching documents of the Catholic Church on liturgical music.

The successful candidate will cantor, direct choirs, play organ and piano, develop congregational singing, and help rebuild a sacred polyphony program within a supportive and renewal-focused parish community. Ideal applicants will have experience in choral direction, organ accompaniment, Gregorian chant, and liturgical music, along with a desire to foster spiritual and musical formation among parishioners.

Compensation ranges from $1,000–$1,400 per month (contract) depending on education, training and experience, with additional paid opportunities for funerals and weddings. The position is expected to grow as the parish music program expands.

“To pay to (Legal Name of Parish) Roman Catholic Parish for its own use absolutely, the sum of (amount) dollars. I declare that the receipt of the person professing to be the Pastor or Parochial Administrator of the parish shall be sufficient discharge to my Trustee who need not see to the application thereof. I further direct that if the (Name of Parish) does not exist at the time of my death, this bequest shall be paid to the Parish’s successor, and if no such successor exists, then to an institution with similar objectives and goals.”
