Catholic Health Sponsors of Ontario (CHSO) supports a network of twenty-three (23) health care and social services organizations across Ontario, in addition to an operational portfolio that advances justice, peace, and integrity of creation. Position Summary

Reporting directly to the President & CEO and working in close collaboration with the Director of Healthy Communities, the Mission Integration Manager ensures the integrity and integration of CHSO’s mission and Catholic identity across all strategic and operational activities.

This role is responsible for the development and promotion of CHSO’s mission initiatives, including supporting mission formation within Sponsored Organizations. The Mission Integration Manager serves as a steward of Catholic identity, cultivates strong relationships throughout Ontario’s health care and social services sectors, and acts as an ambassador for CHSO by inspiring trust through exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

The Mission Integration Manager will:

  • Provide leadership on theological issues affecting day-to-day operations.
  • Integrate mission and values into organizational decision-making through policy and procedure review.
  • Promote Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic traditions within organizational strategic and operational planning.
  • Develop criteria and evaluation methods to assess mission and values implementation across CHSO and Sponsored Organizations.
  • Serve as a resource on organizational ethical issues and dilemmas.
  • Design, lead, facilitate, and deliver high-quality formation programs, orientation sessions, seminars, retreats, workshops, and educational modules for leadership and staff, with a focus on integrating mission and values into patient care, policies, programs, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver the Mission Leadership Program.
  • Support Sponsored Organizations by providing guidance on ethics, mission, and values, including the development of educational programming.
  • Operate effectively within a Catholic governance context, demonstrating an understanding of the structure and functions of the Catholic Church.
  • Coordinate and implement the annual Living the Mission Awards, including chairing the Awards Selection Committee.
  • Plan and support celebrations recognizing organizational milestones and the history and legacy of CHSO and its Sponsored Organizations.
  • Promote mission and values through storytelling and by celebrating the legacy of the founding congregations.
  • Develop and implement strategies that preserve and promote the heritage of the founding congregations.
  • Oversee the care and recognition of Catholic and cultural symbols, artifacts, and artwork, ensuring they appropriately reflect CHSO’s heritage and legacy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with values-based partners, including Catholic Church officials.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Theology, Ethics, Social Sciences, or another relevant discipline from a recognized educational institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in ethics and adult education.
  • PhD or Doctorate is considered an asset.
  • Four to six (4-6) years of progressively responsible experience in Catholic and/or moral theology, ethics, social work, or related fields within complex organizations (faith-based, not-for-profit, and/or health care settings preferred).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Catholic and/or moral theology.
  • Experience developing and implementing integrated strategies, managing partner engagement, and delivering executive-level communications.
  • Experience supporting values-based partnerships in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

    • The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of:
      • Ontario’s health care system and not-for-profit governance, including the role of sponsors within Catholic health care and social services.
      • The Catholic tradition, Catholic Social Teaching, and the Health Ethics Guide (as amended from time to time).
      • Other faith traditions and cultures.
      • Ontario’s media landscape, public policy processes, and sector associations relevant to health care and social services.
