Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall

Seniors Mass & Luncheon

All seniors are invited to join Annunciation Parish for monthly for Mass, fellowship, and good food. We appreciate a good-will offering to help cover the cost of the meal. Our next event is September 18th and begins with a noon Mass, followed by a luncheon with a guest speaker.

Click here to register on the Annunciation website. Registration closes at 12am on Thursday, September 12.

September Speakers

This month’s speakers are Steve and Pauline Winogron. After spending 34 years in radio and television broadcasting, Steve accepted a challenge from his wife Pauline to join and grow her statue restoration business.

Though it was a drastic career change, the idea of building skills to rebuild, repair, re-sculpt and in some cases re-imagine extremely old statues was intriguing, Now, more than eight years later, Steve and Pauline restore statues most often 80 to 150 years-old and come from Canada and the United States.

For both Pauline and Steve, the greatest reward comes from seeing old, out-of-use statues, altars, tabernacles or sculptures being brought back into fruitful service.  To see people pray before a 120-year old crucifix that came from a dusty antique shop in Quebec, was restored, and now hangs in the Sanctuary at Annunciation Parish brings them great joy.
