Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall

On Sunday, September 14th, 2025, the St Faustina Parish community gathered with much excitement for a landmark ceremony. This momentous occasion symbolized hope and growth for the community as they unveiled the construction vision and plans for their new church building, marking the beginning of an inspiring new chapter in their parish journey. The event took place on the vacant new property at 2835 Old Montreal Rd, across from the Cumberland Museum, and was attended by parishioners, local residents, and esteemed
guests.

The ceremony began with a Mass held on the land. A large tent, designed to resemble a church sanctuary, was set up with chairs for the service, ensuring comfort for all attendees. The audiovisual setup was excellent, and the entire event was recorded. After Mass, there were presentations describing the vision and plans for the new Church, including a video of support from the Archbishop of Ottawa-Cornwall, the Most Reverend Marcel Damphousse. During the event, draft renderings of the new church were presented, and committee members were available to answer any questions. After the event, families were encouraged to stay and picnic on the land, fostering a sense of community and togetherness. The event drew an overflowing crowd of about 350 attendees and the excitement and anticipation for the new church building were palpable.
