Job Title: Custodian
Job Summary
St. Patrick Parish, Fallowfield is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, security, and overall care of the church, offices, and parish hall. The Custodian helps ensure that parish facilities remain clean, safe, welcoming, and properly maintained for parishioners, staff, volunteers, visitors, liturgies, meetings, and events. The successful applicant must demonstrate professionalism and respectful awareness of the religious and cultural environment of the parish.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain the church, parish offices, and hall.
- Ensure parish facilities are safe, orderly, and welcoming.
- Assist with basic maintenance and overall care of the parish property.
- Support building security, including appropriate opening, closing, and monitoring of facilities as required.
- Carry out duties with professionalism and respect for the religious and cultural environment of the parish.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Ability to perform cleaning and custodial duties.
- Basic maintenance awareness and ability to identify facility issues
- Ability to follow safety, cleaning, and security procedures.

- Able to work independently and responsibly.
Education and Experience:
- Desired experience: Previous custodial, maintenance, cleaning, or facility-care experience would be an asset.
Screening Requirement:
• The successful candidate will be required to complete a security background check conducted by the parish as a condition of employment.
Working Conditions
- Type of contract: Part-time.
- Work location: St. Patrick Parish, Fallowfield, including the church, offices, and hall.
- Schedule: Minimum of 24 hours per week. Specific days and times to be confirmed.
- Start date: June 1.
- Compensation / Salary: $21.00 per hour.
- Travel: No regular travel specified.
