Advent Confession – Annunciation Parish
Come encounter the mercy of God in the confessional and prepare your heart for the arrival of Jesus this Christmas! The priests at Annunciation of the Lord parish in Gloucester will be available for confession from 9:30am – 12:30pm on Saturday, Dec 14th.
We are all in need of the mercy of God. Sin is a conscious decision to stray from God’s will, and it harms our relationship with him. But there is no sin so great that it would cause God to cease in his love for us. Think of Jesus bending to meet the eyes of the woman caught in adultery, saying, “Neither do I condemn you.” (John 8:11). In such a way, God comes to meet us in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, bending to meet our eyes and say, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”
To prepare to receive this beautiful sacrament, we invite you to complete an Examination of Conscience, which helps you identify the sins you need to confess. It’s not meant to make you feel guilty or shameful. Instead, it helps you prepare your heart to encounter Jesus’ love and mercy!
