Development and Peace Share Lent Workshop

You are warmly invited to join us for our local formation on the Turn Debt Into Hope Share Lent campaign!

In this Jubilee Year, Development and Peace — Caritas Canada eagerly joins with Caritas Internationalis, KAIROS Canada and other partners to raise a voice for debt justice. Responding to the call of Pope Francis and the biblical hope of a Jubilee, people around the world are mobilizing to call on creditors and politicians to cancel unjust debt and put people and the planet before profit.

Resolving the debt crisis is long overdue. Some countries have no reasonable way of paying back their debt, trapping them in a cycle of credit and condemning future generations to debt. The interests of creditors and extractive industries should not be placed above the interests of people and the planet.

As Pope Francis reminds us in this Jubilee Year, this is an appeal for solidarity, but above all—for justice. 

This workshop will equip D&P members with everything they need to participate in the global campaign.
