Diocesan Mass for the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
This September 30th, honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by attending the 7:30pm diocesan Mass held at St. Basil’s parish. September 30th is not a festive holiday. Instead, it is a reminder to pause our lives and sit in the discomfort of the past and present wounds dealt to the Indigenous Peoples of Canada. As a diocese, let us embrace the call for reconciliation with open hearts and minds.
“Reconciliation is not as simple as giving and receiving an apology. Much like our struggle for holiness, it is an ongoing process. Let us not become passive in it. Mark September 30th with three things: Prayer, listening, and action.” – Bishop Damphousse
