Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall

Is Life Always Worth Living? Workshop on Saturday, June 20th

Come explore:
– How our lives continue to have meaning amid illness, disability, dependence, and loss
– Why living until natural death can become a gift of hope for others
– How the way a story ends changes the meaning of every page
An increasing number of people think that there are circumstances under which it is reasonable for someone to ask someone else to end their life. Some of the reasons listed in government reports are due to cancer, chronic illness, disability, and dementia. Does life lose its sense in the face of suffering? Or, is life always worth living? This formative workshop will empower you to encounter, understand, and overcome the euthanasia temptation. Two mini talks, Q&A, a delicious catered lunch, and an interactive workshop are included!
You’re invited to register to attend “Is Life Always Worth Living? A Workshop on Aging, Value, and Purpose” taking place on Saturday, June 20th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish Hall at 1489 Shea Rd, Stittsville, ON. Cost: $25 before June 15th or $30 after.
Workshop presenters are: Amanda Achtman, Ethics Director, and Nicole Scheidl, Executive Director Canadian Physicians for Life.
