Archdiocesan Mass – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

You are invited to attend our 2026 bilingual Mass for National for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day at the  Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica on Wednesday, September 30, at 7:00 p.m.  Indigenous peoples from across the Archdiocese will be sharing their culture and spirituality that day with music from the Kateri Native Ministry of Ottawa and Akwesasne Mohawk Choir. A reception and fellowship will follow.

Reverend Daryold Winkler, former Pastor of St. Basil’s Parish in Ottawa will preside over the Mass, offering prayers and reflections that underscore the Archdiocese’s commitment to truth, reconciliation, and walking with Indigenous Peoples. As an Indigenous priest his leadership in this observance symbolizes the Church’s dedication to fostering healing and building stronger relationships rooted in mutual respect and understanding.
