This past Wednesday evening, a fire heavily damaged the steeple of St. Philip’s parish in Richmond. Thankfully, no one was injured, and the fire was contained before it could spread. The parish community will be able to use their hall as temporary worship space and continue gathering together for Mass.
Archbishop Marcel shared his concerns and prayers for St. Philip’s in a letter:
“In times of challenges, we believe God is with us and strengthens us. I pray this Lenten season will be such a time of growth, trusting in Christ as he leads the way. We are reminded that the blessings of Easter morning came only after the trial and passion of the cross. May God grant you all his grace as you journey together in faith and charity.”
