Promotional Kit: Gr 9-12 Diocesan NET Retreat

On Dec 7, 2024, teens in grades 9-12 are invited to “Into the Deep”, a diocesan NET retreat exploring the big questions of life and what really matters. Throughout the day, teens will learn how a relationship with God answers our longing for meaning and hear from other young people whose own lives have been transformed. The retreat day includes games, skits, a chance to discuss things in a small-group setting, and a time of guided prayer and worship.

 

The cost is $30/participant and includes lunch (dietary restrictions accommodated). The retreat begins at 10am on Saturday, Dec 7, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish and will run until 4:30pm. Register at https://intothedeep.pllenty.com/

 
*An evening Mass is available at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish that fulfills Sunday Obligation. This is not a formal part of the retreat schedule.

About NET Canada
NET is a Catholic Youth Ministry Organization based out of Ottawa. We see that many young people lose their faith by the time they leave high school. NET sends teams of young adults to share their faith in schools and churches, so youth are transformed and re-engaged in their Catholic faith.
 

What is a NET retreat?
A NET retreat is a time for your child to encounter God, maybe for the first time. Perhaps they attend church with you and are involved with a variety of activities, but have they encountered Jesus in their hearts? The day is designed to help your child do just that through teaching, games, prayer and worship. They will hear about how a relationship with God answers our longing for meaning, engage in small groups to discussion, and have lots of fun with the NET team through games and skits.

Sample Will Wording and Charity Number

It is important that your Will include the correct legal name and charitable registration number in your documents. The legal name for the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall is:

Your parish office is able provide you with the legal name for your own parish. However, most Archdiocesan parishes and programs can be designated in your Will as:

The Roman Catholic Episcopal Corporation of OTTAWA-CORNWALL, for the benefit of [ Specific Parish, Cemetery, Ministry or Program ] in [ Town / City ].

You may also consider the following clauses in your Will:

For your parish:

“To pay to (Legal Name of Parish) Roman Catholic Parish for its own use absolutely, the sum of (amount) dollars. I declare that the receipt of the person professing to be the Pastor or Parochial Administrator of the parish shall be sufficient discharge to my Trustee who need not see to the application thereof. I further direct that if the (Name of Parish) does not exist at the time of my death, this bequest shall be paid to the Parish’s successor, and if no such successor exists, then to an institution with similar objectives and goals.”
